The information in this article applies to:

- Microsoft Windows 98
This article was previously published under Q192403 SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to open a saved rule set in Microsoft Chat, you may
receive the following error message:
Load Rule Set
The rule set being loaded has the same name "<rule set name>" as an
existing rule set.
You are prompted to overwrite the existing rule set, rename the rule set
being opened, or cancel the operation. If you choose to overwrite the
existing rule set, you receive the same error message. If you choose to
rename the rule set being opened, you receive the following error message:
The rule set "<rule set name>" already exists. Please choose another
name.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you delete a rule set with the same name using
the Rule Sets tab in the Automations dialog box. Deleting a rule set in
this manner does not remove the rule set (.crs) file from the folder in
which you saved it.
RESOLUTION
To create a new rule set using the same name as one you previously
deleted, you must first delete the existing .crs file. To do so, use the
following steps.
NOTE: By default, Microsoft Chat saves .crs files in the My Documents
folder.
- Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files Or Folders.
- In the Named box, type *.crs, and then
click Find Now.
- In the list of found files, right-click the .crs file with the same
name as the rule set you are creating, and then click Delete.
- On the File menu, click Close.
