This article was previously published under Q192396 SYMPTOMS
When you click Play Sound, the .wav file may not play.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if you try to play a .wav file that has an ellipsis
(three period characters, or ...) in the file name. For example, the
"sound....wav" (without quotation marks) file name has an ellipsis in it.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, rename the appropriate .wav file to remove the
ellipsis. For example, rename the sound....wav file to sound.wav to
eliminate the ellipsis. For information about how to rename a file, click
Start, click Help, click the Index tab, type "renaming" (without quotation
marks), and then double-click the Renaming Files topic.
