SYMPTOMS

When you try to modify a program shortcut in your Startup folder, the shortcut may be missing.

If you add a new folder or shortcut to the C:\Windows\All Users\Start Menu\Programs folder, the new folder or shortcut may not appear on the Start menu.

If you add shortcuts to the C:\Windows\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup folder, the shortcuts run but do not appear on the Start menu.

If you add a new folder or shortcut to the C:\Windows\All Users\Desktop folder, the new folder or shortcut may not appear on the Desktop.

MORE INFORMATION

The All Users folder is created on a Windows 95-based computer only if the Windows Desktop Update component is installed.
