Digital Video Device Not Capturing Video with Adaptec AHA-8940 (192172)

SYMPTOMS

If you use a digital video capture device, you may not be able to use the capture feature.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you are using an Adaptec AHA-8940 1394 PCI host adapter and the Windows 98 driver for the Adaptec host adapter.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, replace the Windows 98 driver with the Adaptec driver provided with the host adapter.

To remove the Windows 98 driver, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click System, and then click the Device Manager tab.
  3. Double-click the SCSI Controllers branch to expand it, and then click Adaptec AHA-8940 1394 PCI Host Adapter.
  4. Click Remove, click OK, and then click Yes.
