SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to run the ISDN Configuration wizard from Microsoft Windows 98 or Windows Millennium Edition (Me) Help, you may receive the following error message:
No ISDN devices were found. Please install an ISDN device and run the configuration wizard again.
When you run diagnostics on the Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) device using the Modems tool in Control Panel, you receive the correct information from the device, which indicates that it is properly installed.

CAUSE

This error message can occur if you are using an external ISDN device. The ISDN Configuration wizard included with Windows 98 works only with internal ISDN devices.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, contact the manufacturer of the ISDN device for information about how to configure it for use in Windows 98 or Windows Me.

MORE INFORMATION

The configuration utility included with the Microsoft ISDN Accelerator Pack for Windows 95 also works only with internal ISDN devices.
