DSS80: Cannot Hear CD Audio When You Unplug Speakers (191785)

When you unplug the Microsoft Digital Sound System 80 speakers from the
Universal Serial Bus (USB) port on your computer, you may not be able to
hear CD audio through an analog device such as a sound card.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if digital CD audio is enabled on the computer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- Plug the Digital Sound System 80 speakers into the USB port.
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Multimedia.
- Click the CD Music tab.
- Click to clear the "Enable digital CD audio for this CD-ROM device"
check box.
- Click the Audio tab.
- Under Playback, click your sound card in the Preferred Device box,
and then click OK.
- Close Control Panel.
- Unplug the Digital Sound System 80 speakers from the USB port.
