SYMPTOMS

When you turn on a computer with the Microsoft Digital Sound System 80 speakers attached, the computer may not start.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the computer's BIOS settings prevent the computer from responding correctly to signals from the Digital Sound System 80 during the Power On Self Test (POST).

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact your computer manufacturer to inquire about how to obtain and install an updated version of the BIOS.

To work around this issue, disconnect the USB cable from your computer and the Digital Sound System 80, and then connect the speakers to a sound card and use them in analog mode.
