This article was previously published under Q191633 SYMPTOMS
If you are running Windows 98, McAfee WebScanX may not be able to block
access to servers or Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. You may notice this
issue if you are watching the Status window's Internet filter. Although
programs are detected, scanned, and counted (if this option is enabled),
no Internet sites may be counted or displayed in the Last Item window.
This behavior may occur with all Web browsers in Windows 98 if you are
using WebScanX 3.1.2.
CAUSE
WebScanX 3.1.2 is not compatible with changes made to the Winsock.dll file
in Windows 98.
RESOLUTION

following methods:

update. The validation code is the product ID located in the Help About
section of Internet Explorer Plus 4.0.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this behavior is not caused by a problem
