BUG: Uninstall of InterDev 6.0 Uninstalls InterDev 1.0 DTCs (191561)

SYMPTOMS

When a machine has both Visual InterDev 6.0 and Visual InterDev 1.0 installed, an uninstall of Visual InterDev 6.0 will also remove all Visual InterDev 1.0 design-time controls (DTCs).

RESOLUTION

Reinstalling Visual InterDev 1.0 restores the 1.0 DTCs.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Install Visual InterDev 1.0, and then Visual InterDev 6.0.
  2. Uninstall Visual InterDev 6.0.
  3. Create a new HTML page in Visual InterDev 1.0.
  4. From the Insert menu, select Into HTML and ActiveX Control, then look at the "Design-time" tab. The list of controls is empty.
