BUG: Source Control Commands Are Not Available for Invalid User Names (191552)

After you enable a source control for a Web project, some users fail to see the source control commands for files in their project. These commands include the following:
- Check Out
- Check In
- Undo Check Out
Instead, the corresponding commands for non-source controlled files will
appear. Respectively, these are as follows:
- Get Working Copy
- Release Working Copy
- Discard Changes
CAUSE
This problem occurs if you do not add the relevant user names to the source control system. This problem can also occur if you delete the relevant user names from the source control system.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, add all of the intended Web author's user names to the user list of the source control database.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
