ActiMates: Parent's Room Help Is Incorrect or You Receive Error Messages (191425)

SYMPTOMS

If you install version 1.0a of any of the Barney software titles listed in the applies to section of this article after you have installed version 1.0 of the software title, Parent's Room Help contains information only about version 1.0a. Parent's Room Help for version 1.0 is not available.

If you install version 1.0 of any of the Barney software titles listed in the applies to section of this article after you install version 1.0a, you receive a series of error messages when you attempt to view the CD Title Information in the Parent's Room Help file.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Parent's Room Help program is different for versions 1.0 and 1.0a. Version 1.0 of the Barney software titles uses an HTML Help program, and version 1.0a uses WinHelp. Each of these Help programs use different Help files.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, download and install the Acthelp.exe file. The following file is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center:

Microsoft scanned this file for viruses. Microsoft used the most current virus-detection software that was available on the date that the file was posted. The file is stored on security-enhanced servers that help to prevent any unauthorized changes to the file.

This file installs updated Help files for all of the ActiMates Barney software titles and updates the Start menu shortcuts so they point to the correct Help files.
