PRJ98: Incorrect Row Height After Collapsing Outline (191402)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project 98, when you hide the subtasks of a summary task, the row height for the summary task may change.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur when the following conditions are true:

  • You have a project containing summary tasks and indented subordinate tasks.

  • The outline is expanded, showing the subordinate tasks.

  • You collapse the outline.
NOTE: To collapse an outline, follow these steps:

  1. Click to select the summary task you want to collapse.
  2. On the Project menu, point to Outline, and then click Hide Subtasks.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem in existing projects and to prevent this problem in new projects, install Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service Release 1 (SR-1).

To work around this behavior, scroll down the view so the affected line is off the screen, and then scroll the view back to the original position.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, ServiceRelease 1 (SR-1).
