PRJ98: Prompted Multiple Times to Open Resource Pool (191398)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project 98, when you open a consolidated project, you may be prompted to open a resource pool many times.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when all of the following conditions are true:

  • You are opening a consolidated project.

  • At least two of the projects inserted into the consolidated project are sharing resources from the same resource pool.

  • The consolidated project is not the resource pool.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, open the resource pool before you open the consolidated project.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
