BUG: List View Control Does Not Sort Items Correctly (191295)

SYMPTOMS

List view controls that use LVS_SORTASCENDING or LVS_SORTDESCENDING do not sort items correctly.

RESOLUTION

Applications can sort the list view items by sending the list view control a LVM_SORTITEMS message and defining a comparison function.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this bug and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
