BUG: Cursor on Wrong Line After Opening Page (191051)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Visual InterDev 6.0
This article was previously published under Q191051 SYMPTOMS
When you open a page by double-clicking an item in the Task List, the
cursor might not be positioned on the correct line when the page contains
one or more controls.
CAUSE
When a design-time control is shown graphically in Source view, several
lines of text are actually hidden. The graphical control consumes one line
in the editor, but several lines of text might actually have been used in
the file. When you open a file from the Task List, the cursor appears on
the wrong line because line numbers are being counted as if the controls
were not shown graphically.
RESOLUTION
If the file is already open in the editor, the Task List correctly locates
the appropriate line. After you double-click an item in the Task List and
if the cursor is on the wrong line, double-click the item in the Task List
a second time to position the cursor at the correct location.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed
at the beginning of this article. We are researching this bug and will post
new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes
available.
