BUG: Execute Is Unavailable on New, Unsaved Procedural Object (191049)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Visual InterDev 6.0
This article was previously published under Q191049 SYMPTOMS
The execute command, both on the shortcut menu and the tools menu, is
unavailable for procedural objects such as procedures and functions. This
applies to all unsaved procedural objects for all backends that support
execution.
CAUSE
This behavior is by design. The availability of the execute command is tied
to the status and appearance of the object in data view. The execution save
prompt allows for a previous saved version to be executed. In this case
there is no previous saved version.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed
at the beginning of this article.
