Adaptec ANA-6911A/TX Network Adapter Detected as DEC DC21143 (191033)

If you have an Adaptec ANA-6911A/TX network adapter, the Windows 98
hardware detection process may incorrectly identify it as a PCI Fast
Ethernet DEC 21143-based adapter.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the network adapter responds during the
hardware detection process with an identification code that matches
the PCI Fast Ethernet DEC 21143-based adapter.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, remove the PCI Fast Ethernet DEC 21143-based
adapter, and then use the Adaptec installation software included with
the network adapter to install the correct network adapter drivers.
To remove the PCI Fast Ethernet DEC 21143-based adapter, follow these
steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Network.
- On the Configuration tab, click PCI Fast Ethernet DEC 21143 Based
Adapter, and then click Remove.
- Click OK.
