Floppy Disk Drive in Armada Expansion Base Is Not Displayed (190919)

SYMPTOMS

When you are using a Compaq Armada expansion base, the floppy disk drive in the expansion base may not be displayed in My Computer or Windows Explorer.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the floppy disk drive in the Compaq Armada expansion base is not detected by Windows. This can occur if the expansion base contains an earlier Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) that is not fully compatible with Windows 98.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, update the BIOS on your expansion base. For information about how to update the BIOS on your expansion base, please contact Compaq.
