HP99: Difference Between Minimum and Full Installation (190864)

SUMMARY

When you run Setup for Home Publishing 99, you can choose either of the following Setup options:

Minimum Installation

Click this button to install common options. Recommended for most users.Full Installation

Click this option to install only the options you want. Recommended for advanced users.

If you choose the Minimum Setup option, the basic files needed to install and run Home Publishing are copied to the hard disk.

If you choose the Full Setup option, you can choose to install any of the following Home Publishing 99 components:

Microsoft Home Publishing

This is the actual program and is required.Graphic Filters

This option allows you to install additional filters for less common graphic file formats.Clipart Catalogs

The Clipart Catalogs are indexes that contain preview, description, and location information about the clipart included with Home Publishing.

If you choose to install the Clipart Catalogs on your hard disk, performance improves when you preview Home Publisher's clipart and templates. However, this option requires at least an additional 100 megabytes (MB) of hard disk space.

NOTE: The actual clipart files that these catalogs reference remain on the Home Publishing 99 CD-ROMs. You still need to insert the Home Publishing 99 CD-ROMs when you use the clipart.

Graphic filters are files that translate a graphic file from its saved format to one that can be read by a program. The following list contains the graphic filters you can install using the Full installation option:
