LANtastic Mapped Network Drive Label Is Incomplete (190802)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows 98

This article was previously published under Q190802

SYMPTOMS

When you use My Computer, Windows Explorer, or Artisoft's LANtastic Custom Control Panel, the names for mapped network drives may not be displayed correctly. Instead of the name "<share> on '<server>' <driveletter>:" you may see only "<driveletter>" for mapped drives.

This behavior does not affect the functionality of the mapped drives.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you are using the LANtastic 32-bit network client. The memory variable used to store the resource and computer name value is not used by the LANtastic network client (Ltnp32.vxd).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this behavior is not caused by a problem in Windows 98, but may be caused by design changes in Windows 98. For more information about resolving this issue, contact the program's manufacturer.
