Money: Minimum Balance and Under Minimum Balance Text Missing (190786)

SYMPTOMS

When you run Microsoft Money 99 or Microsoft Money 2000, you may experience either of the following symptoms:
  • The Minimum Balance text on the total bar of the Account Register may not be displayed.

  • The Under Minimum Balance warning may not be displayed when your account total is less than the minimum balance you have set in the Details area.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if any of the following conditions are true:
  • Your screen resolution is set to anything less than 1024 x 768 pixels. Only screen resolutions of 1024 x 768 and greater allow enough text to fit on the total bar to display the Today's Balance, Ending Balance, and Minimum Balance/Under Minimum Balance.

  • Your screen resolution is 1024 x 768 pixels, and you have the Help pane turned on.

  • The Minimum Balance and Under Minimum Balance messages may not display in screen resolutions of 1024 x 768 to prevent overlapping text. If the width of the Today's Balance text, Ending Balance text and Minimum Balance/Under Minimum Balance text is greater in length than the total bar, the Minimum Balance/Under Minimum Balance messages are not displayed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, change your screen resolution to 1024 x 768 pixels, and temporarily close the Help pane if open.

NOTE: To display the Minimum Balance/Under Minimum Balance text, your computer must support 1024 x 768 pixels, and the width of the Today's Balance text, the Ending Balance text and the Minimum Balance/Under Minimum Balance text must be shorter than the total bar.

To change your screen resolution to 1024 x 768 pixels:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Display.
  3. Click the Settings tab.
  4. Drag the Display area, Screen area, or Desktop area slider to 1024 by 768 pixels.
  5. Click Apply, and then click OK.

STATUS

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Money 2001.
