PRJ: Task Changes to Milestone After Edit Assignment in Form (190613)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project, when you edit a resource assignment in the Task Form or Task Details Form, the task may change to a milestone. Duration and Work for the milestone will also be zero.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when you follow these steps:
  1. Change a resource assignment's Start and Finish dates in the Task Form or Task Details Form to be later than the scheduled start and finish for the task.
  2. Mark the task as 100% complete.
  3. Click OK in the Task Form.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Change assignment dates in the Task Form or Task Details and click OK.
  2. Mark the task as 100% complete in the Task Form or Task Details and click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
