RESOLUTION
The following is from the release notes for Microsoft Exchange 5.5 Service
Pack 1:
Collaboration Data Objects (1.21) Cannot Run with Microsoft Visual
Studio Extensions.
The Microsoft Visual Studio event service extensions cannot be used on a
computer with CDO (1.21). These extensions are contained in the
Exchange.dsm file, which is installed by the Outlook 98 and Outlook 97
Setup programs.
To create and modify event service scripts on a computer with CDO (1.21)
installed, use the event service extensions to Outlook 98. These
extensions are contained in the Scrptxtn.dll file, which is installed by
the Outlook 98 and Outlook 97 Setup programs. For Outlook 98, you must
enable the event service extensions.
Use the following steps to enable the event service extensions in Outlook
98:
- From the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the Other tab.
- On the Other property page, click Advanced Options.
- Click Add-In Manager, select the Server Scripting check box, and
click OK.
