Hard Disks Missing After Resuming from Suspend Mode (190368)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows 95
- Microsoft Windows 98
This article was previously published under Q190368 SYMPTOMS
After you resume your Toshiba laptop computer from Suspend mode, hard
disks attached to the AMD small computer system interface (SCSI)
controller may be missing in My Computer and Windows Explorer.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you suspend and resume your computer while it
is in its docking station. The Advanced Power Management (APM) BIOS used
by Toshiba laptop computers does support suspending and resuming while the
computer is docked.
RESOLUTION
To prevent this behavior from occurring, obtain the TAP utility from
Toshiba's Web site. The TAP utility prevents the computer from going into
Suspend mode while it is docked.
