SYMPTOMS

Using the Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK), a system administrator may notice that after locking down the Security Tab settings (or using Profile Manager) the "Include all Network Paths" (UNCs) check box is not disabled for users installing Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01. The "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" setting may not be disabled either.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Internet Explorer Administration Kit service pack that contains this hotfix.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Internet Explorer Administration Kit version 4.01a.
