XL97: AutoShapes Change Location After You Enter Text (190185)

SYMPTOMS

After you enter text into an AutoShape, the position of the object may change on the worksheet.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur when the following conditions are true:

  • You draw an AutoShape near the edge of a worksheet. -and-

  • You set the orientation of the text to vertical. -and-

  • You select Automatic Size.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows.
