The following service pack is compatible with Small Business Server:
  • Microsoft Exchange 5.0 Service Pack 2
The following service packs and updates are compatible with Small Business Server, but may require additional information:
  • Microsoft SQL 6.5 Service Pack 5
  • Microsoft Proxy Server version 2.0
  • Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack
  • Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) version 4.0
  • Microsoft Windows NT Service Pack 4 or higher

The following service packs are not compatible and will not work with Small Business Server:
  • Microsoft Windows NT Service Pack 3 or earlier As noted above, the version of Windows NT that is available with Small Business Server includes Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3; therefore, there is no need to reapply this service pack. Windows NT service packs are cumulative; therefore, there is no need to apply a previous version of the service pack.
  • Microsoft SQL 6.5 Service Pack 4
