OL98: ErrMsg: "Registration wizard error" on Starting Computer (190116)

SYMPTOMS

When restarting your computer after installing Microsoft Outlook 98, you may get the following error message:
Registration wizard error, missing R command line parameters

CAUSE

The computer is trying to start the Microsoft Exchange Client (Windows Messaging System). You chose the option to place the Inbox in your Startup folder when installing this program.

RESOLUTION

Remove the shortcut to Exchng32.exe (Inbox) from your Startup folder and restart your computer.

MORE INFORMATION

The Startup folder is at the following location:

C:\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

If you want, you can replace the Inbox shortcut with a shortcut to Outlook. This will start Outlook automatically each time you start your computer.
