PPT97: Slide Show Runs On Primary Monitor Under Windows 98 (189545)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 97 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q189545 SYMPTOMS
If you installed Microsoft Windows 98 on your computer and you have
configured multiple monitors, full-screen PowerPoint Slide Shows only
run on your primary monitor.
This symptom occurs whether you are running your slide show in PowerPoint
or in PowerPoint Viewer.
CAUSE
Although Windows 98 supports the use of multiple monitors, certain items
must always be displayed on the primary monitor. These items include:
- Error messages.
- Full-screen MS-DOS windows.
- Many games.
PowerPoint slide shows also fall into this category.
WORKAROUND
If you run a slide show in a window, you can move it to any monitor. To run
a slide show in a window, follow these steps:
- On the Slide Show menu, click Set Up Show.
- Click "Browsed by an individual (window)."
- Click OK.
- Start the slide show.
