MORE INFORMATION

Method 1: Restore the Default Icons Only

To restore the default icons to one or more toolbars, but not restore their default positions, follow these steps:
  1. On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Customize.
  2. Click the Toolbars tab.
  3. Click the name of the toolbar you want to reset. Click Reset.
  4. Click OK when you see the following message:
Are you sure you want to reset the changes made to the '<Name of Toolbar>' toolbar?
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each additional toolbar you want to reset.

Method 2: Restore the Default Icons and Position

NOTE: This workaround removes all custom settings you have made, not just changes to the toolbars.

To restore the toolbars to their default set of icons and positions, follow these steps:
  1. Close PowerPoint.
  2. Delete the PowerPoint Settings (8) file. This file is typically located in the System:Preferences folder.
  3. Restart PowerPoint.
PowerPoint resets the toolbars to their default values and positions.
