This article was previously published under Q188886 SYMPTOMS
When you start your computer using the Windows 98 Startup disk, you may
receive the following error message:
Not Enough Memory to Load RamDrive
Also, drive C may contain the files that are normally loaded on the RAM drive.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if your hard disk is partitioned with drive
overlay software such as Ontrack Disk Manager or EZBIOS EZ-Drive. When you
start your computer using the Windows 98 Startup disk, the drive overlay
software is not loaded from your hard disk.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- Restart your computer without the Windows 98 Startup disk in the floppy
disk drive.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to start your computer from the
floppy disk. The actual method varies depending on the drive overlay
software manufacturer, but most involve pressing either SPACEBAR or the
CTRL key.
- Insert the Windows 98 Startup disk into the drive when you are prompted.
