Intel VTune 3.0 Fails with Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack (188832)

SYMPTOMS

When the OS Chronologies option in VTune 3.0 is used on Windows NT Server 4.0 with the Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack installed, VTune stops responding or fails.

The problem is with W3ctrs.dll, version 4.02.0622, from the Windows NT Option Pack.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0 or Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4.0 and Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition Service Pack 4.
