When you start your Windows 98-based computer, your computer may stop
responding (hang). Or, when you try to access drives in your computer,
your computer may run slowly.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if you are using an Adaptec AHA-2940U2W Small
Computer System Interface (SCSI) adapter with a SCSI CD-ROM Re-Writable
(CD-RW) drive. The Aic78u2.mpd driver file included with the Adaptec
AHA-2940U2W SCSI adapter is not completely compatible with Windows 98.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, download the 7800w9x.exe file from Adaptec's Web
site. This self-extracting executable file contains updated drivers for
the Adaptec AHA-2940U2W SCSI adapter.
