PRJ98: Leveling Week by Week Gives Unnecessary Delay and Splits (188783)

In Microsoft Project 98, when you use resource leveling, you may find
unnecessary delays and splits for linked tasks.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when you use resource leveling in Microsoft Project 98
and "Look for overallocations on a 'Week by Week' basis" is selected in the
Resource Leveling dialog box, and the task has a predecessor task.
RESOLUTION
To correct this problem, install Microsoft Project 98 for Windows Service
Release 1 (SR-1).
After opening the project in Microsoft Project 98 SR-1, use resource
leveling on the project again. The unnecessary delay and splits will be
resolved correctly.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft
Project listed above.
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service
Release 1 (SR-1).
