During a slide show, if you run a macro that adds an object, such as a
drawing object or shape, the screen flashes as the object appears.
CAUSE
When you add an object during a slide show, PowerPoint redraws the new
image on the slide. To redraw the image, PowerPoint refreshes the entire
screen. This causes the screen to flash.
WORKAROUND
There is no workaround currently available.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the
beginning of this article.
