PPT98: Text Extends Beyond Edge of Text Box or Frame (188621)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 98 Macintosh Edition
This article was previously published under Q188621 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft PowerPoint, bold or outline style text formatted for a screen
font may extend beyond the edges of its bounding box. This behavior occurs
only with screen fonts such as New York and Geneva, and only if the text is
formatted as either bold or outline.
Even if you selected Fit Text options such as "Word-wrap text in
object" or "Adjust object size to fit text," the text extends beyond
the right-hand edge of the bounding box. If you framed the text
object, the text extends beyond the edge of the frame.
WORKAROUND
You can work around this behavior by using either of the following methods:
- Manually resize the text frame to fit correctly around the text.
-or-
- Avoid using screen fonts. Instead, use high-resolution fonts.
