PPT98: Slide Numbers Don't Change for Custom Shows (188477)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 98 Macintosh Edition
This article was previously published under Q188477 SYMPTOMS
When you create a custom show that includes a presentation that has slide
numbering, the slide numbering on the included presentation remains
unchanged when you view the custom slide show.
CAUSE
Custom Show is a new feature in PowerPoint that allows you to create a
presentation within a presentation instead of creating multiple, nearly
identical presentations for different audiences. The original presentation
is not modified by custom shows. You are merely changing the order of the
slides being shown. Those slides not shown are marked as hidden for the
custom show.
RESOLUTIONMethod 1: Omit the Slide Numbers
To omit the slide numbers, follow these steps:
- On the Format menu, click Background.
- Click to select the "Omit background graphics from master" check box.
NOTE: To reapply the slide numbers click to clear the "Omit background
graphics from master" check box.
- Click Apply To All.
Method 2: Use Separate PresentationsSTATUS
This feature is under review and will be considered for inclusion in a
future release.
