PPT98: After Animation Effect Fails in Slide Show (188453)

SYMPTOMS

When you run your presentation in Slide Show view, some of the objects in your presentation (text boxes, pictures, drawing objects) may build incorrectly.

CAUSE

The After Animation effect will fail when both of the following custom animation settings are selected for the same object:
  • An After Animation setting is selected on the Effects tab.

    -and-
  • Automatically is selected under Start Animation on the Timing tab.
NOTE: To locate these animation settings, click Custom Animation on the Slide Show menu.

RESOLUTION

Use only one of the custom animation settings described in the Cause section of this article. For example, if you want to use the After Animation effect, click Animate and On Mouse Click in the Start Animation section of the Timing tab.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
