Extra Drive Letters in Toshiba Tecra After Suspend and Resume (188332)

SYMPTOMS

When you resume your Windows 95/98-based Toshiba Tecra laptop computer from a suspend state, and then view your local drives, you may notice that 6 new extra drive letters are visible.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you are using a Toshiba Tecra laptop computer with a Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) hard disk attached to an American Micro Devices (AMD) SCSI controller built into a docking station. Some Toshiba Tecra laptop computers come with preinstalled software that disables suspend and resume functionality while your computer is in a docking station.
