Unable to Install Backup Agents in Windows 98 Network Tool (188232)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install the Seagate backup agent service or the Cheyenne Arcserve backup agent service in Windows 98, the backup agent services may be missing from the list of available backup agent services in the Network tool in Control Panel. Also, if the services are on the list and you try to install them, the installation may not finish successfully.

CAUSE

This issue can occur because Windows 98 does not provide backup agents for these programs.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, obtain the latest version of the backup agent program you want to use.
