OL98: Cannot Copy and Paste Message Into New Folder (187974)

When you attempt to move a mail message from one folder to another by first
copying the message in the source folder and then selecting the destination
folder, you find that the Paste command on the Edit menu is not available.
CAUSE
Selecting the folder in the Folder List does not set focus for a Paste
operation to that folder.
RESOLUTION
To copy a message from one folder to another, use either of these methods.
Copy Using the Clipboard- Select the message to be copied. On the Edit menu, click Copy.
- Select the destination folder in the Folder List and then click in the
Outlook Viewer or a message displayed in the Viewer.
- On the Edit menu, click Paste.
Drag the Message to a New Folder- Right-click the message to be copied to a new folder.
- Drag the message to the new location in the Folder List. Release the
mouse button when the destination folder is selected and click Copy on
the shortcut menu.
MORE INFORMATION
These procedures apply to Task, Calendar, Notes, and Contact items and
although Journal items can be copied in the same manner, they are only
usable on the computer where they were created.
