When you attempt to log into the Outlook Web Access client using an SMTP
recipient address and specify the full SMTP address in the login box, the
following error may occur:
Failed to Perform MAPI Logon.
Attempting to login a second time with this SMTP address may cause the
Internet Information Server (IIS) or Outlook Web Access (OWA) server to
crash.
CAUSE
The MAPI and Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) profile names constructed
from the input SMTP address exceed the maximum characters allowed. This
only occurs with an extremely long SMTP name such as the one shown below,
where the Username is followed by the site, org and .com:
exlistuser@extremely.extralong.microsoft.com
