The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Plus! 98

This article was previously published under Q187756

SYMPTOMS

You can run multiple instances of the PhotoDisc screen saver included in Plus! 98 at the same time. This may cause a loss of free system resources that other programs running on your computer need to work properly.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you apply the PhotoDisc screen saver multiple times in the Display tool in Control Panel.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, quit all except one instance of the PhotoDisc screen saver. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Close Program dialog box.
  2. Click PhotoDisc (High Color), and then click End Task.
  3. Repeat steps 1-2 until only one instance of the PhotoDisc screen saver remains listed in the Close Program dialog box.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Plus! 98, version 1.0.
