Method 1: Server Proxy

Microsoft Proxy Server is designed to work well with other servers like Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft SQL Server, without compromising your network security for incoming requests from the Internet. The server application can be installed on the same computer as Proxy Server, or on another computer located behind the Proxy Server. Most Windows Sockets server applications are able to use the server proxy feature. Certain additional advanced settings may be required, based on your particular internal server configuration.

Method 2: Reverse Proxy

Reverse proxy can be used to access Web data on an internal server using the HTTP protocol. There is also limited support for the HTTPS protocol.

Method 3: Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol

Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) can be installed on the computer running Microsoft Proxy Server. PPTP is protocol that is included with Windows NT 4.0.

PPTP can work well with Proxy Server and allow incoming PPTP sessions from Internet hosts. This option provides the most flexible and feature-rich access to your private network. It is also very secure because the entire data stream is encrypted.
