When you select a Desktop Theme in Plus! 98, you are able to rotate the desktop theme on a monthly interval. To rotate the theme on a schedule you specify, you can use the Task Scheduler included in Microsoft Windows 98.

To use Task Scheduler to specify the rotation schedule for desktop themes, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Desktop Themes. Click the Rotate Theme Monthly check box to select it, and then click OK.
  3. Close Control Panel.
  4. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Scheduled Tasks.
  5. Double-click Desktop Themes.
  6. Click the Schedule tab.
  7. In the Schedule Task box, click the interval at which you want the desktop theme to be changed.
  8. In the Start Time box, click the time of day at which you want the desktop theme to be changed.
  9. Depending on the interval you selected in step 7, click the following choices to customize the rotation schedule for desktop themes:

    • The number of days between desktop theme changes (Daily)
    • The day of the week and number of weeks between desktop theme changes (Weekly)
    • The day of the month on which the desktop theme is changed (Monthly)
    • The specific date on which the desktop theme is changed (Once)
    • The number of minutes the computer has been idle for (When Idle)
    NOTE: If you clicked At System Startup or At Logon in step 7, you cannot select the time of day at which you want the desktop theme to be changed.
  10. Click OK, and then close the Scheduled Tasks window.
