PRJ98: Indicator Column Displays Inserted Project Is Not Valid (187374)

In Microsoft Project 98, when you open a consolidated project, cross-
project links or inserted project links may become disabled. In addition,
an indicator with the following message may appear in the Indicator column:
This inserted project, <path>\<file name>, is not valid. A project can be inserted only once in a consolidated project.
CAUSE
This error message may occur when the following conditions are true:
- You open a consolidated project.
- The consolidated project is the source of resource sharing for
the projects that are inserted in it.
- You have moved the consolidated project and inserted projects to
different folders two or more times.
- After you moved the projects each time, you did the following:
- You opened the resource pool with Read/Write access.
- You chose not to open other files.
- You saved the projects.
RESOLUTION
To correct this problem, install Microsoft Project 98 for Windows Service
Release 1 (SR-1).
To work around this problem, do not move the files using Windows Explorer
or programs other than Microsoft Project. Instead, save the projects to a
new location.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service
Release 1 (SR-1).
