Plus! 98: Desktop Theme Screen Savers Are Grainy or Washed Out (187359)

SYMPTOMS

Some of the screen savers associated with the Desktop Themes included in Plus! 98 may appear to be very grainy or washed out.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you are using a desktop theme designed for a High Color (16-bit) palette, and your display settings are set to use a 256 color palette.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, set your color palette to High Color (16-bit). To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Display.
  3. Click the Settings tab.
  4. In the Colors box, click High Color (16-bit), and then click OK.
  5. Click "Restart the computer with the new color settings," and then click OK.
  6. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
