Cannot Print Multiple Copies Using Hewlett-Packard DeskJet 400 (187247)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to print multiple copies of a document to a Hewlett- Packard DeskJet 400 printer, the Number Of Copies box may be unavailable in the Print dialog box. The Collate check box may also be unavailable.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, use either of the following methods:

Method 1

Print one copy of the document at a time.

Method 2

Change the driver used by your Hewlett-Packard DeskJet 400 printer. To do so, follow these steps:

NOTE: Following these steps may change some capabilities of your Hewlett- Packard DeskJet 400 printer.
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
  2. Right-click your Hewlett-Packard DeskJet 400 printer, and then click Properties.
  3. On the Details tab, click New Driver, and then click Yes when you are prompted to continue.
  4. In the Manufactures box, click HP, and then click a different Hewlett-Packard DeskJet driver (such as HP DeskJet 500) in the Models box.
  5. Click OK, and then click OK again.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 98.
