This article was previously published under Q187190 SYMPTOMS
When you start the Calculator tool in Windows 98, you may be unable to see
any text on any of the buttons. Note that this issue may also occur in
other tools or screens.
CAUSE
This problem can occur if you configure the appearance of your computer's
3D Objects to be the same color as the text on the buttons in Calculator
in Windows 98. Windows 98 can not change the colors used for the text on
the buttons in Calculator, so the color of the buttons and the text on the
buttons remain the same.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, change the color of 3D Objects to a different
color. To do so, use the following steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then
double-click Display.
- Click the Appearance tab, click 3D Objects in the Item box, click a
different color in the Color box, and then click OK.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows 98.
