Users Cannot Customize Application Shortcuts (187185)

SYMPTOMS

When you install Microsoft Office 4.3, program shortcuts are located in %SystemRoot%\Profiles\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Office 43. All users can view and start the programs, but are not able to customize the program shortcuts.

RESOLUTION

To allow the program shortcuts to be customized for each user, copy the program shortcuts to each user's home directory.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows NT version 4.0, Terminal Server Edition.
